Yeah I just saw some random podcast (by 2 pro wrestlers??) called Every Record Ever, something like that. I didn’t really check out the date but seems these 2 clueless meatheads-who thought they’d known & seen all in rock. The fact that they’d never heard of the Gun Club-not unusual at all-but I guess someone wrote in from their “listeners” asking them to review “Fire of Love” Didn’t take long before these two-who were obviously in over their blockheads-decided they’d listen to 1 or maybe a couple r songs fr JLP & Gun Club…first, hvg gotten their hands on “some kinda research material”, Yup, watched that Whiny so called documentary I tried to sit through but just couldn’t-“Ghost on the Highway”, w the bitchy ex-bandmates. Which 1 of these guys didn’t even see-but Meathead #- says “Oh God yes things (said about Jeffrey in general) got way worse: “He was not only the biggest & most egotistical asshole-everybody absolutely HATED him, wld hv loved to beat the ever lovin shit out of him at least once-or better yet just kill him;…& then they both aunched into racis slurs: “It’s a well known fact that Latina mothers raised their sons to believe the world revolved around them while they shitted on the daughters, hence Jeffrey’s way-out of-‘line massive ego.” “But the guy is like the WORST singer I ever heard, embarrasses himself trying to play a guitar-dude’s supposed to be a genius at songwriting but at best he’s just some loser who hosed off Bob Hite’s massive record collection of blues/root music while the poor guy was dyin’…then tried to mimic a sound that was “never REALLY blues -anything, just a mush mash of other musicians’ styles he tried to parrot (& failed miserably). JLP only cared ab Himself, his overbearing EGO-& that’s obvious in his lyrics…v high school. The guy was always fucked up on smack, booze, anything..so he wrote embarrassing Drug Songs that even the Stones would hv snickered at in the early 60’s…… Izzat So? Maybe these goofy bastards shouldn’t take requests then-& stick to the MOR pop & the New Wave crap ltheyre prob much r more comfortable with. If you can’t appreciate *genius* or genuine innovations in the world of rock, R&B, punk , rock a Billy etc maybe you should, just turn down requests fr listeners altogether-or better still, stick to what you know: steroids, brain damage & phoney-ass displays of “athleticism “ (kicking another dumb f*ck’ “performer’s” ass…..

BTW this is such a heartbreaking tune…but it’s solid gold, I could listen to it over & over…what am I saying? I DO..!

Love this. Howcome i don't remember them? If they were in WA i probably would have because we did alot of bar and all-age shows back then. Or else I was in too deep of a nod to notice or care about anything else. This sure sounds good now though. I still miss the 90's. If I'd've realized at the time how different it was from the later decades I might've paid more attention or something.
